Police Officer Relieved of Duties Over Alleged Bribery in Drug Seizure Investigation

MONROVIA – Police Officer 106 Johnny Bolar Dean has been relieved of his duties following an investigation into the seizure of an estimated US$317 million worth of illegal drugs.

According to information available, Dean admitted during the investigation to receiving US$10,000 as a bribe in connection with the case.

Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the alleged payment or whether additional charges will be filed.

The development comes as law enforcement agencies continue investigations into one of Liberia’s largest reported drug seizures.
