President Joseph Nyuma Boakai on Monday, November 18, left Liberia for a 4-day working visit to neighboring Republic of Sierra Leone.
This visit, according to the Executive Mansion is based on invitation extended him by his Sierra Leonian counterpart, President Julius Maada Bio, and is expected to run through November 21, 2024.
While in Sierra Leone, the President will engage in strategic discussions to strengthen bilateral relations and advance regional cooperation within the Mano River Union framework.
The visit reflects Liberia’s commitment to deepening partnerships and fostering economic, social, and political collaboration in the region.
The Executive Mansion listed top government officials traveling with the President including Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Agriculture Minister Dr. Alexander Nuetah, Information Minister Jerolimek M. Piah, and Senior Advisor Dr. Augustine Konneh.
The delegation also includes National Security Advisor Samuel Kofi Woods, Director General of the Cabinet Nathaniel Kwabo and Economic Advisors Sahr Johnny and Morley Kamara. Members of the President’s media and communication team, as well as his personal staffers, are in the entourage.
During the President’s absence, Samuel A. Stevquoah, Minister of State Without Portfolio for Special Services, will chair the Cabinet in consultation with the Vice President. while remaining in direct communication with the President as he oversees any urgent matters and ensures the smooth functioning of government operations.
