Nimba County, Liberia — Representative Ernest M. Manseah Sr. of District #4, Nimba County, has strongly dismissed rumors suggesting he is considering a political defection to the opposition-aligned Citizens Movement for Change (CMC), describing the claims as baseless and “total nonsense in high places.”
Speaking in response to growing political speculation tied to alleged internal tensions involving Vice President Jeremiah Koung, Rep. Manseah rejected suggestions that he was preparing to leave his current political alignment or join the CMC.
“Imagine the party that everyone is resigning from, that’s the same party a sound-minded person like me will ever think of joining? You must be daydreaming. Total nonsense in high places,” Manseah said.
The remarks come amid circulating reports alleging that Vice President Koung may be positioning support for another candidate ahead of the 2029 political cycle, fueling speculation about possible shifts in alliances within Nimba County’s political landscape.
Rep. Manseah, however, used the opportunity to distance himself from the rumors, signaling continued loyalty to his current political base while dismissing what he described as politically motivated misinformation.
Political observers note that Nimba County remains a key battleground in national politics, with shifting alliances often sparking early campaign speculation years ahead of elections.
