Road Projects Awarded to Political Party (Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction), Verity News confirms

Legitimate Liberian-owned engineering and road construction companies are being sidelined while political parties are awarded road projects in Liberia.

Verity News has finally obtained the audio of the Acting City Mayor of Saclepea City, Nimba County. Mayor Wallace Zigbuo appeared on Radio Saclepea with journalist Robert Matally and admitted that the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) won a bid for road projects and have been implementing road projects. This paper notes with certainty that this is a serious violation of the law, and all those linked should fully account. MDR is not a registered engineering or road construction company. It is a political party. Why are they receiving road construction contracts/projects? What is Liberia turning into?

“…It was a bid that was put out, and it was won by the MDR party. Yes, MDR. They got their own engineers. They, too, brought their own engineers to take care of this aspect of the project. So, that’s how the government did it. So, they have gone to Bahn, and they will be coming back in the evening to go back to Monrovia.” Mayor Wallace Zigbuo, Acting City Mayor, Saclepea City

The Ministry of Public Works, responsible for road projects across Liberia, is yet to release a statement. The audio will be uploaded. This is a developing story.
