Margibi County Senator Nathaniel Farlo McGill has announced that his personal official Facebook account has been restricted, limiting his ability to post, comment, and interact with the public on the platform.
In a public notice issued by his office, the Senator said the restriction is the reason the public has not been hearing from him through his personal Facebook page as usual.
According to the notice, efforts are underway to resolve the restriction with Facebook, with the Senator’s office promising to provide updates as they become available.
The office has meanwhile urged supporters and members of the public seeking official information about Senator McGill’s activities to follow his official Senate office Facebook page.
The restriction comes as social media remains a major platform for Liberian public officials to communicate directly with constituents and the wider public.
The Senator’s office thanked the public for its understanding and said updates on the matter would be provided when available.
