Caldwell, Montserrado County, June 1, 2025: The Life Preparation Academy in Caldwell, Montserrado County has received a major boost in improving student welfare with the dedication of a newly constructed modern cafeteria worth over USD18, 000, built by the Theola Bright Foundation with support from the We Dream in Colors Foundation.
The newly completed facility, which can host between 60 to 70 students at a time, was officially handed over during a vibrant community ceremony that brought together school administrators, parents, and representatives of both foundations at the Life Preparation Academy campus.
Speaking during the event, the Life Preparation Academy Proprietor Rev. Blama Duwah expressed heartfelt gratitude for the gesture, noting that the cafeteria comes as a solution to a long-standing problem. According to him, students previously had to eat on the floor or while standing due to the lack of a proper dining area.
“This cafeteria is an answer to a great need,” the Proprietor said. “Now our students will no longer eat in discomfort. They finally have a clean and comfortable place to enjoy their meals.”
Theola Bright, Founder and Executive Director of the Theola Bright Foundation, said she was moved to take on the project after observing the unhygienic conditions under which students at the school were eating.
“I saw the need to build a space where the children could eat in a safe environment,” she said. “The food they eat can sometimes get contaminated, and that can pose serious health risks. This cafeteria helps protect their health and dignity.”
She further revealed that her foundation is also preparing to implement a school-based feeding program to ensure that no student has to learn on an empty stomach. The initiative, she said, aligns with their mission to support education through holistic child welfare.
In addition to the cafeteria, the We Dream in Colors Foundation, under the leadership of its Founder and Executive Director, Quinton de’ Alexander also known as Chief Tamba Taylor donated a range of essential school supplies and food items to the students.
The donations included books, back begs, pencils, coloring materials, and other vital school supplies aimed at assisting parents who struggle to afford educational materials for their children. Chief Tamba Taylor also presented several rice and other staple food items to support the school’s feeding program.
The students, many of whom were visibly excited, expressed gratitude to Chief Taylor for the much-needed support. One student remarked, “Some of us find it hard to get school materials, and sometimes we come to school without eating. This donation came right on time.”
Another student added, “Now we have a cafeteria and food. We are happy. Thank you, Chief Tamba Taylor.”
Parents also joined in expressing appreciation for the support. One parent stated, “We thank Chief Tamba Taylor and pray that God will multiply whatever funding he used to get these items for our children. This is a big help.”
In the heart of rural Liberia, where access to basic education and essential resources remains a daily challenge, American humanitarian Quinton de’ Alexander is making a lasting impact. As the founder of the We Dream in Colors Foundation, de’ Alexander has committed himself to uplifting communities through a range of youth development initiatives, school support programs, and humanitarian aid.
Driven by compassion and a deep sense of global responsibility, de’ Alexander has led efforts to provide critical educational materials to children whose families cannot afford even the most basic supplies. From backpacks and books to uniforms and classroom tools, his foundation ensures that students in some of Liberia’s most underserved regions have what they need to pursue their dreams.
But his support doesn’t stop at school supplies. Recognizing the strong link between nutrition and academic performance, the We Dream in Colors Foundation has launched in-school meal programs, providing students with daily nourishment to keep them healthy, energized, and ready to learn.
The foundation has also awarded numerous scholarships to deserving students who show academic promise but lack the financial means to continue their education. These scholarships are helping to build the next generation of Liberian leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
Beyond the classroom, Quinton de’ Alexander has prioritized youth development across rural Liberia. His programs offer leadership training, mentorship, and life skills development aimed at empowering young people to overcome adversity and become agents of change in their communities.
As Liberia continues to recover from years of hardship and rebuild its educational infrastructure, Quinton de’ Alexander and the We Dream in Colors Foundation stand as a shining example of what is possible when global citizens take action.
The event concluded with performances from the students and a tour of the new cafeteria, which has already begun serving its purpose as a safe, welcoming space for students to dine and socialize.
With the combined efforts of the Theola Bright Foundation and the We Dream in Colors Foundation, the Life Preparation Academy is now better positioned to offer a more supportive and child-friendly learning environment.
As one parent noted, “This cafeteria is more than a building it’s a symbol of hope for our children’s future.”
