River Gee County | May 22, 2026 | What began as an ordinary business trip has sadly ended in tragedy, following the sudden death of a young woman identified as Delina Toe.

Toe, who was a resident of Quayee Community Fish-Town, reportedly died instantly after a tragic incident involving a falling tree in Tienpo, an area widely known for gold mining activities, particularly around the area called Minnesota Camp.

According to reports, Delina was seen on Wednesday morning, May 20, 2026, moving through the Quayee and Sandy communities collecting goods for sale in Tienpo.

She had reportedly traveled to the mining camp to continue her business while awaiting additional supplies from Monrovia.

Sources disclosed that Delina was widely known for selling clothes and locally known “kiss meat” as part of her trade activities.

The unfortunate incident reportedly occurred on Thursday morning after she went to retrieve a key that had mistakenly been taken to the mining field by a loved one.

Upon arriving at the location, heavy rainfall forced her to temporarily seek shelter and rest.

During that time, reports say her companion suddenly heard the sound of a tree beginning to collapse and quickly attempted to pull her away from danger.

Sadly, Delina’s legs reportedly became trapped in the mud due to the rain boots she was wearing, making it difficult for her to escape in time.

The falling tree then struck her, causing fatal injuries and resulting in her immediate death.

Following the incident, community members initially believed she had survived.

An ambulance was quickly called, and she was rushed to the Fish Town Referral Hospital, where medical authorities later confirmed her death after examination.

Reports further indicate that Delina Toe’s remains have since been deposited at a funeral home along the Kanweaken–Fish Town Highway, pending funeral arrangements.

Meanwhile, the tragic passing of the young businesswoman has left family members, friends, relatives, and residents of the community in deep sorrow.

Her death has also greatly affected her fellow graduates, as she was among the 2023 graduating class of Tweh Jaiklay High School in Fish-Town.
