BOE-QUILLA ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICT, TAPPITA ELECTORAL DISTRICT — Over ten (10) towns in Boe-Quilla, located in Lower Nimba County Electoral District #6, have benefited from a donation of rice and cash provided by Mr. Bob Yeenuah Kartoe, Deputy Director General for Administration at the National Food Assistance Agency (NFAA).
According to Mr. Kartoe, who also hails from the district, the gesture was his way of giving back to his people and identifying with them as they celebrate Liberia’s 179th Independence Anniversary. He added that he will continue to do more whenever the need arises.
Receiving the rice and cash, local leaders—including town chiefs, women leaders, youth chairpersons, and prominent residents of each town—thanked Mr. Kartoe and called on other sons and daughters of the district to emulate the good example set by their kinsman.
Meanwhile, the NFAA deputy boss has been honored by the Tappita United Students Association (TUSA) attending Nimba University (NU).
The honor included the presentation of a rod (or mantle), gowning, and a certificate of appreciation.
Speaking on behalf of the students, TUSA President Bokie Mantan explained that Mr. Kartoe was honored in recognition of the financial aid he provides to 37 students attending Nimba University in Sanniquellie City and the Liberia International Christian College (LICC) in Ganta.
In response, Mr. Bob Yeenuah Kartoe expressed excitement and shared how overwhelmed he was to receive the honor, noting that it came as a joyful surprise.
Mr. Kartoe reaffirmed his commitment to supporting students across the district and Nimba County as a whole. He pledged to cover tuition fees for 60 students from the district attending the university and college for the upcoming semester, expected to begin in August 2026.
He urged young Nimbanians and Liberians in general to take full advantage of education, emphasizing that it remains the most valuable tool for transforming lives in any society.
