Two Liberians Graduate from Prestigious Universities in Canada

Two Liberians, Seawon Lawaiyee and Musa Sheriff, have successfully completed higher education programs in Canada, marking significant milestones in their academic journeys. Lawaiyee earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Geology–Applied Mineral Exploration from Laurentian University, while Sheriff graduated from Fleming College’s School of Health and Community Services.

Announcing his achievement, Lawaiyee described the degree as the realization of a dream that began when he left Liberia two years ago to pursue advanced studies abroad. He credited his success to God’s grace, determination, and perseverance despite coming from a modest background.

Lawaiyee dedicated the achievement to his late father, Lawrence W. Lawaiyee, and his mother, Hawa Koiwood, whom he praised for their sacrifices and commitment to providing opportunities for their children. He said their hard work and support laid the foundation for his academic success and continue to inspire him.

Meanwhile, Sheriff dedicated his degree to his children, describing them as his motivation to strive for excellence. He also expressed appreciation to his partner, Tanti, for her unwavering support throughout his studies and said he looks forward to continuing his education at Centennial College in Canada.
