Monrovia, Liberia — The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has apologized to Soltiamon Christian School System and a student after a review of the candidate’s examination result revealed an inconsistency in the final score.
The development followed a request from Soltiamon Christian School System for WAEC to review the examination result of student Kwabo, Pearl Lelah.
In a letter dated September 13, 2026, and signed by WAEC’s Acting Head of Test Administration, the examination body acknowledged an error discovered during its review of the student’s examination scripts.
“Please note that upon reviewing her scripts, a slight inconsistency which resulted to final score reading ‘X’ was observed,” WAEC stated.
The examination body expressed regret for the situation and any inconvenience it may have caused the school and the candidate.
“We regret any inconvenience this may have caused your institution and candidate Kwabo, Pearl Lelah,” WAEC added.
The development has renewed attention to the importance of accuracy in the processing and release of students’ examination results.
