A popular Liberian musician and social advocate Korte Dorbor Bazzie, popularly known as Kobazzie, has issued a stinging rebuke of the nation’s lawmakers, accusing members of the House of Representatives of failing the people of Liberia. In a passionate public statement, Kobazzie criticized the legislature for what he described as more than a year of political infighting, inefficiency, and neglect of the Liberian populace.
“You have failed your people,” Kobazzie declared, addressing the House directly. “Instead of delivering on your promises, you’ve spent your time fighting among yourselves, playing politics, and dragging this nation backward.”
The artist condemned both Majority and Minority blocs for putting party loyalty and personal ambition above national interest, saying the Liberian people are suffering while legislators continue to draw salaries funded by taxpayers.
He urged Liberian youth to reject political manipulation and stand up for accountability and reform. “You are the backbone of this country,” he said. “The future of Liberia belongs to you, don’t let anyone steal it.”
Kobazzie, known for using his platform to highlight social and political issues, reaffirmed his commitment to civic engagement, stating, “Entertainer or not, I’m still a citizen. Silence isn’t an option when the nation needs voices.”
His bold statement has stirred conversation across social media, further intensifying public scrutiny of Liberia’s political leadership amid the ongoing crisis at the Capitol.
