Citizens of Gee Robert Town and surrounding areas in Grand Bassa County are facing a dire situation as they continue to struggle with access to safe drinking water.

The community, established by former District #3 representative Gee Robert in the late 1960s, has been plagued by contaminated water sources for decades.

Residents have resorted to collecting rainwater in unprotected holes, which poses serious health risks.

Junior Jackson, a concerned citizen, highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by the community, expressing how the water storage often runs dry, forcing them to travel to other villages in search of water.

The lack of clean water has led to widespread health issues, especially among children, who are most vulnerable to waterborne diseases.

Despite attempts to adapt to the contaminated water, residents are still suffering from illnesses and are calling on the government to intervene and provide a sustainable solution to their water crisis.
