A violent dispute over water access turned tragic in the Jimmyville Community on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, when a 19-year-old man was critically wounded during a knife attack.
Eyewitnesses report that Peter Namah was waiting his turn at a public pump when an argument erupted between him and 15-year-old Prince Cummings, a student of Fish Town Demonstration School. The disagreement escalated when Namah allegedly struck the younger teen with a stick. In response, Cummings drew a silver kitchen knife and stabbed Namah in the back.
The victim was immediately rushed to Fish Town Referral Hospital and later transferred to J.J. Dossen Hospital in Maryland County for advanced treatment. Medical officials say Namah remains on oxygen as his condition is being closely monitored.
Police have since arrested Cummings, who is currently under investigation. The incident has sparked widespread concern across Fish Town, with community members calling for urgent efforts to address youth violence and improve conflict resolution among young people.
