Cuttington University Graduates 707 Students as Dr. Jarso Jallah Urges Change for Liberia’s Future

SUAKOKO, Bong County – In a momentous ceremony, Cuttington University celebrated the graduation of 707 students across its three campuses, with Education Minister Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah emphasizing the critical need for these graduates to become the change that Liberia requires.

The graduation ceremony marks a significant achievement for the institution, with the largest cohort graduating from the undergraduate school in Suakoko. At the undergraduate level, 254 students earned degrees across various disciplines, including 15 in Agriculture and Sustainable Development, 42 in Business and Public Administration, and 93 in Health Sciences.

Additionally, 46 students graduated from the Kakata Junior College, while the School of Professional Studies in Monrovia produced 64 graduates who received Post Graduate Diplomas in fields such as Education and Epidemiology. The Graduate School in Monrovia also graduated 343 students, including 140 specializing in Business and Public Administration, among other fields.

In her commencement address at the institution’s 63rd graduation ceremony held on June 21, 2025; Dr. Jallah underscored the potential impact of the graduates on Liberia’s development during a time of significant change. She urged them to engage in efforts that strengthen Liberia’s governance, emphasizing that enhancing the administrative system is essential for achieving efficiency and productivity. These factors are crucial for meeting the nation’s development goals and improving the lives of its citizens.

Dr. Jallah motivated the graduates to embrace entrepreneurship and encouraged them not to shy away from starting small. She highlighted the importance of adding value through their education, urging them to become problem solvers within their communities. As they prepare to enter the professional world, she advised graduates to commit to lifelong learning, develop ambitious plans for their futures, and create detailed strategies for their career paths to ensure clarity in their goals.

Throughout her address, Dr. Jallah emphasized the need for graduates to pursue their journeys with high standards. She stated that excellence, integrity, and unwavering commitment to service should guide their actions, reminding them that maintaining these standards elevates not only themselves but also honors their institution and nation.

Additionally, she cautioned against allowing obstacles to deter their resolve to achieve greatness. Addressing the graduates, the University President, Dr. Romelle A. Horton, reinforced the significance of the institution’s vision, which focuses on lighting, growing, and developing.
