On the historic occasion marking the 178th anniversary of our nation’s independence, we honor the sacrifices of our forebears who laid the foundational cornerstone of our beloved nation and fought for the freedom we cherish today. This moment is not just a reminder of our past but a call to action for a prosperous future—a future built on patriotism, collective effort, and a shared commitment to national healing and reconciliation.
As a nation, our diversity is our strength, and our unity is our power. As we celebrate this Independence Day, let us reflect on our journey and remember that true independence is not only about sovereignty but also about how we treat one another, how we lift each other up, and how we work together to heal the wounds of division.
On this Independence Day, I call on all Liberians, at home and abroad, to recommit to the values that bind us: love for country, respect for one another, and the courage to bridge our differences. The path that lies ahead requires every Liberian—leaders and citizens alike—to embrace dialogue, foster inclusivity, and, above all else, prioritize the peace and progress of our dear nation.
