Monrovia, Liberia — The Unity Party (UP) Alliance of Political Parties has lauded President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., and his administration for what it described as a significant diplomatic milestone following the United States Government’s decision to extend the validity of non-immigrant visas for Liberians from 12 months to 36 months.
In a statement issued over the weekend in Monrovia, the UP Alliance hailed the move as a “remarkable diplomatic achievement,” highlighting it as evidence of Liberia’s strengthened international image and President Boakai’s “visionary leadership.”
According to the group, the visa extension—covering B1 (business), B2 (tourist), and B1/B2 (combination) categories—reflects deepening bilateral ties between Liberia and the United States and is expected to boost trade, education, tourism, and cultural exchanges.
“This milestone symbolizes the confidence and respect Liberia is regaining under this administration,” the statement said.
The Alliance also praised Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti and her team for their “professionalism and commitment” in advancing the President’s foreign policy objectives, noting that the diplomatic success “inspires hope, deepens international engagement, and opens doors for Liberians both at home and abroad.”
Calling for national unity, the UP Alliance urged Liberians to support President Boakai’s efforts to rebuild the country’s global reputation and foster stronger international partnerships.
“With unity, vision, and purpose, Liberia moves forward—rebuilding confidence and reinforcing global partnerships,” the statement concluded.
