ACC to Auction Seized Luxury Properties Linked to NRA Corruption Case

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has announced plans to sell three high-value residential properties seized as unexplained wealth following investigations into corruption at the National Revenue Authority (NRA).

ACC Commissioner Francis Ben Kaifala Esq. disclosed that the properties, including a luxury seaside residence, will be disposed of through public auction or private treaty in accordance with a court order. Proceeds from the sale are expected to return billions of leones to the state.

According to the Commissioner, one of the properties is a three-storey, ultra-modern seaside home equipped with advanced electronic security systems, smart home technology, and full furnishings. The house also features a penthouse with panoramic sea views, a swimming pool area, and boys’ quarters, all described as finished to a high modern standard. A reserve price will be set following professional valuation, he said.

“We have a court order to sell it and two other large houses as unexplained wealth and return the money to the people of Sierra Leone without delay,” Commissioner Ben Kaifala stated.

He encouraged interested buyers with legitimate sources of income to prepare for the sale, noting that the disposal of the properties forms part of the ACC’s broader effort to recover assets lost through corruption.

The Commissioner also framed the move as evidence of the government’s ongoing anti-corruption drive, describing it as a significant step in enforcing accountability under the administration of President Julius Maada Bio.

The ACC has not yet announced the dates or modalities for the auction but indicated that further details will be made public once valuation processes are completed.
