‎Ziah Town Residents Sound Alarm Over Deteriorating Road Condition ahead of Rainy Season

‎By D. Abraham Cooper, Sr.

‎ZIAH TOWN, Grand Gedeh – With the rainy season fast approaching, residents of Electoral District #2 are expressing growing anxiety over the “worsening” state of a major road corridor connecting Ziah Town to the rest of Grand Gedeh county.

‎Local citizens are calling on their Representative, Hon. Marie G. Johnson, along with private companies and humanitarian organizations, to launch an emergency rehabilitation project before the infrastructure becomes impassable.

‎Mounting Fears of Isolation

‎Community members fear that without immediate intervention, the entire district faces potential isolation. Poor road conditions during the rainy season typically lead to:

‎Skyrocketing transportation costs for essential goods;

‎Disrupted daily activities and restricted access to healthcare;

‎Safety hazards for motorists and pedestrians alike.

‎A Call for Urgent Action

‎Speaking from Konobo Boundary Town, a local resident, Mr. Willie Gaye Sr., highlighted the lack of progress on the route, noting that the situation is “getting worse day by day.”

‎”The road condition is deteriorating, and nothing is being done about it,” Gaye stated. He issued a direct appeal to Hon. Marie G. Johnson and the humanitarian community to provide the necessary equipment and resources to stabilize the road.

‎Residents are hopeful that local authorities and stakeholders will heed the call to prevent a total transport collapse in the district.
