Deputy Immigration Border Commander of Grand Cape Mount County Arrested in Sierra Leone with 600 Strips of Tramadol

An investigation by Verity News has obtained videos and photos, which reveal that a senior officer of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) has been arrested in neighboring Sierra Leone after he was allegedly found in possession of a large quantity of controlled drugs.

Mr. Randy P. Z. Tuweh, Deputy Border Patrol Commander for Grand Cape Mount County, was arrested on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in the border town of Jendema by officers of the Sierra Leone Drug Enforcement Agency (SLDEA).

According to information, Mr. Tuweh was apprehended while allegedly in possession of 600 strips of Tapentadol Tramadol tablets, a controlled opioid medication often associated with illicit trafficking across West African borders.

Authorities in Sierra Leone have not yet released full details surrounding the circumstances of the arrest, but sources indicate the immigration officer is currently in custody as investigations continue.

Officials of the Liberia Immigration Service have yet to issue an official statement regarding the arrest or the possible administrative actions that may follow.
