Ex-Presidential Aide Sekou Kalasco Damaro has officially thrown his hat in the race for the upcoming 2029 Representative election in District #3, Margibi County. Incumbent Representative Ellen Attoh-Wreh faces a number of tough challengers including Dr. John Solunta Smith.

Citizens of District #3 in Margibi County have petitioned Sekou Kalasco Damaro, a former presidential aide to ex-Liberian leader George Weah, to contest the district’s representative seat in the 2029 general elections.

The petition, presented on Sunday, April 12, 2026, was signed by residents of Firestone Division 27 and surrounding communities. The group described themselves as “concerned and forward-looking citizens” united in their call for what they termed progressive and inclusive leadership in the district.

In their statement, the petitioners highlighted Damaro’s engagement with young people, advocacy for development, and willingness to address national issues as key reasons behind their appeal. They noted that his experience and connection with ordinary citizens make him a strong contender to represent their interests.

“At a time when our district yearns for progressive leadership, inclusiveness, and renewed hope, we believe your voice and experience position you as a worthy representative of our collective aspirations,” the statement read.

The citizens further emphasized their confidence in Damaro’s leadership abilities, describing the petition as a reflection of their trust in his capacity to deliver meaningful change.

“This petition is not just a request—it is a reflection of the trust and confidence we have in your ability to lead, to represent, and to deliver,” the statement added, urging him to answer what they called a “call to service.”

In response, Mr. Damaro expressed appreciation to the residents for their confidence in him. He accepted the petition and pledged to provide good leadership for the district if elected.

“The people have spoken. The time is now. 2029 awaits your leadership,” the petition concluded.
