Monrovia, Liberia – The President of FC Fassell, Cassell Kuoh, has declared his intention to contest the upcoming Liberia Football Association (LFA) presidential election, despite being disqualified by the association’s electoral committee.
Speaking at the club’s headquarters in Monrovia, Kuoh strongly rejected the decision, describing the LFA’s electoral body as a “so-called independent committee.” He alleged that his disqualification was deliberate and aimed at paving the way for incumbent LFA President Mustapha Raji to run unopposed.
“This process was premeditated,” Kuoh asserted, insisting that he remains resolute in his bid to challenge the current leadership of the Liberia Football Association.
Meanwhile, Kuoh’s legal team has moved swiftly to contest the ruling. His lawyer, Joseph Howe, disclosed that instructions have been issued to file a legal challenge against the committee’s decision.
“We are taking all necessary legal steps to ensure that this decision is overturned,” Howe stated. “Our goal is to secure Mr. Kuoh’s rightful place on the ballot so that he can contest the election fairly.”
The unfolding dispute sets the stage for a potentially contentious electoral process within Liberian football, as stakeholders await the outcome of the impending legal challenge.
