Could Samuel Tweah Face Retrial? Jury Tampering Claims Emerge

The high-profile US$6.2 million alleged corruption case involving former Finance Minister Samuel D. Tweah and other ex-government officials has taken a new turn following allegations of jury tampering.

His Honor Ousman F. Feika of Criminal Court “C” has summoned all 15 jurors and court security officers to appear for a hearing on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, as part of an investigation into the claims.

The court has also suspended proceedings on a motion for a new trial pending the outcome of the inquiry.

According to reports, three jurors formally complained that some of their colleagues engaged in misconduct during deliberations. The allegations include the use of cell phones in restricted areas and unauthorized communication with individuals linked to the defendants.

The jurors claimed such actions may have improperly influenced the verdict in the corruption trial.

The latest development has raised speculation over whether the case could be retried if the allegations are substantiated.
