Three major criminal cases are drawing attention in Grand Cape Mount County, where authorities are searching for a missing man, preparing to sentence a convicted child killer, and continuing a human trafficking trial.
The Ministry of Justice and the Liberia National Police have intensified efforts to locate Roland T. Roger, who has been missing since June 4, 2026.
According to investigators, Roger was last seen after visiting an entertainment center in the county. Since then, security agencies have been working to determine his whereabouts and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
The Ministry of Justice, through the Office of the County Attorney headed by Cllr. Nyonkpao R.G. Daye, has announced a reward of L$50,000 for information that could help locate Roger or provide crucial leads in the case.
Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that may assist the investigation.
The Circuit Court in Grand Cape Mount County is expected to sentence Jayjay Dagoseh, who pleaded guilty to the murder of a two-year-old child.
Court records show that Dagoseh admitted committing the crime with another suspect who remains at large. Investigators say the child was killed and dismembered before the remains were placed in a black plastic bag and taken across the border into Sierra Leone.
The case has shocked residents and sparked calls for justice. Security agencies are continuing efforts to apprehend the fugitive suspect.
Human Trafficking Trial Continues
Prosecutors are expected to present rebuttal evidence in the ongoing human trafficking case involving Bendu V. Kamara and several co-defendants.
According to the prosecution, Bendu Kamara, her husband, Lawrence Kamara, daughter Diana Kamara, and others allegedly lured three Liberians with promises of jobs in Senegal and collected about US$6,210 from them.
Prosecutors allege that the victims were instead taken to neighboring Guinea, where they were subjected to exploitation and conditions amounting to servitude.
The defense has closed its case, clearing the way for prosecutors to call rebuttal witnesses.
The missing person investigation, the upcoming murder sentencing, and the human trafficking trial have placed Grand Cape Mount County at the center of several high-profile criminal cases attracting attention across the country.
