MCSS Superintendent Denies Corruption Allegations, Threatens Legal Action Over Teachers’ Statement

Monrovia – The Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS) has rejected allegations of corruption and administrative misconduct contained in a statement attributed to the MCSS Teachers’ Association, describing the publication as unauthorized and of questionable authenticity.

In a statement issued Monday, Superintendent Dr. Augurie E. Stevens said the document, published by Verity Online News and dated August 3, 2026, was unsigned and does not represent the official position of the Teachers’ Association.

MCSS disclosed that it is reviewing the contents of the statement and is considering legal action, including a libel lawsuit, against Augustine N. Nyormui and Emmanuel M. Dickson if the allegations are found to be false, defamatory, and damaging to the institution and the Superintendent’s reputation.

Dr. Stevens said the institution is committed to ensuring that teachers, staff, and the public receive accurate information, adding that MCSS will pursue all available legal and administrative remedies to address what it described as an attempt to misrepresent the Teachers’ Association and harm the institution’s credibility.
