CESTOS CITY, Rivercess County — Forty-seven chiefs from across Rivercess County have been placed on the Government of Liberia’s payroll and officially employed as part of ongoing efforts to fulfill government commitments to traditional leaders.
Rivercess County Superintendent Byron W. Zahnwhea disclosed the development during an interview with Verity News, stating that the beneficiaries were selected from various districts across the county.
Superintendent Zahnwhea said the employment is expected to provide greater support to traditional leaders as they perform their responsibilities and serve their respective communities.
He urged chiefs across the county to visit the Human Resource Office to verify whether their names appear on the government’s recently released employee list.
According to the superintendent, the names of the chiefs who benefited from the employment initiative cannot be publicly disclosed at this time, citing administrative reasons.
He encouraged chiefs who believe they may have been selected to personally visit the Human Resource Office to confirm their employment status.
The development is part of broader efforts by the Government of Liberia to strengthen the role of traditional authorities and provide increased institutional support to chiefs across the country.
