River Gee County | August 30, 2026 | The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency – LDEA, River Gee County detachment, has arrested four Liberian nationals, including one woman and three men, in separate operations targeting the possession and distribution of controlled substances in Joquiken and Kanweaken, Gbeapo statutory district.
The arrests, which resulted in the seizure of Kush, Tramadol, and marijuana with a combined estimated street value of L$908,780, were conducted as part of the LDEA’s ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug activities across River Gee County.
The operations were carried out by a team of LDEA officers under the leadership of the agency’s Acting County Commander, Special Agent Emmanuel S. Masseh.
According to an August 2026 LDEA operational report, the four suspects were apprehended during separate operations conducted on different dates and locations within the county.
The LDEA release says, Emmanuel Bokarie, 35, was arrested on August 26, 2026, in Gbeapo Kanweaken, near the district health facility, where he was reportedly found in possession of 13 wraps of Kush, 12 wraps of marijuana, and Tramadol. The substances were placed at an estimated street value of L$4,300.
Lonely female JoJo Madison, known as Mama Wou, 39, was arrested on August 19, 2026 having in possession of 166 grams of Kush, 13 strips of Tramadol, and 40 wraps of marijuana, with an estimated street value of L$778,480, making it the largest single seizure among the four cases.
Paul Gbeadeh, 46, was also arrested on August 5, 2026, after he was reportedly found in possession of 20 strips of Tramadol. The seized substances were valued at approximately L$110,000 and on the same day of August 5, 2026, the Anti forces also arrested Emmanuel Jayswen, 21, in Kanweaken where he was found with two strips of Tramadol and nine pills, with an estimated value of L$16,000.
The agency said some of the defendants were subsequently forwarded to the Fish-Town Magisterial court to face legal proceedings, while the cases remain subject to investigation and judicial determination.
The LDEA emphasized that the suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the latest arrests form part of the River Gee County LDEA detachment’s continuing enforcement campaign against the possession, distribution, and trafficking of controlled substances.
Since Special Agent Emmanuel S. Masseh assumed duties as Acting County Commander, the detachment has continued to intensify its enforcement activities and public awareness efforts aimed at disrupting the illegal drug trade.
The agency is also calling on residents to cooperate with law-enforcement authorities by providing credible information that could help identify individuals involved in the possession, sale, distribution, and trafficking of illegal drugs.
According to the LDEA, community cooperation remains critical to preventing drug-related activities and protecting young people and communities from the harmful effects associated with substance abuse.
The latest operations highlight the continued attention being placed on combating illicit drugs in River Gee County, as authorities seek to strengthen enforcement and protect communities from the growing impact of controlled substances.
