Margibi County — The Office of the Lower Margibi Labor Commissioner has begun disbursing funds to more than 75 student vocational workers who participated in the first and second batches of the Student Vocational Job Program under the Ministry of Labor.
The disbursement, which commenced Tuesday, September 22, 2026, provides financial support to students who participated in the two-week vocational program, with each participant receiving a minimum of US$75.
Lower Margibi Labor Commissioner Johnson QuiQui said the initiative is intended to support students who are self-supporting and help them meet some of their educational expenses.
Under the program, participating students were assigned to various public and private institutions, where they performed minor jobs and provided support to their host institutions.
Some of the students also participated in public awareness activities addressing social issues, including drug trafficking, rape, child abuse and other challenges affecting communities.
Commissioner QuiQui expressed appreciation to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and Labor Minister Cllr. Cooper Krah for providing opportunities aimed at supporting young people and contributing to their educational and personal development.
The beneficiaries, while receiving their funds, expressed appreciation to the Lower Margibi Labor Office for implementing the program and providing financial assistance toward their educational needs.
The Labor Office said it remains committed to programs that provide young people with practical work experience while helping address some of the financial challenges associated with their education
