LIS Receives Major Operational Supplies to Strengthen Immigration Services in River Gee

River Gee County | Oct. 7, 2026 | The Liberia Immigration Service – LIS River Gee detachment has received a major consignment of office equipment, stationery, uniforms, raincoats, boots, shoes, and other essential supplies aimed at strengthening the operational capacity and working conditions of immigration officers across the county.

The new supplies are expected to enhance the day-to-day activities of the LIS county command while providing officers with improved tools and appropriate working gear as they carry out their responsibilities in border management, immigration control, documentation, and other national security-related duties.

According to LIS River Gee County Commander ACI Peter M. Vanyanbah, the supplies were provided following the conclusion of a national retreat and security-related engagements involving county commanders and directors in central Liberia.

Commander Vanyanbah said the materials were subsequently presented to county commanders for onward distribution to officers assigned across their respective counties.

Among the items received by the River Gee LIS command are one HP laptop computer, one modern office desk, a double carnon printer, cartons of stationery and folders, as well as sets of uniforms, including 59 pairs of boots and shoes, along with other operational materials.

The supplies were reportedly presented by LIS Comptroller Patrick Dolo, Director for Administration, on behalf of the Liberia Immigration Service.

“This is the first time since I took over as Commander of River Gee County that we have received such a huge supply that covers every officer,” Commander Vanyanbah said.

He noted that providing officers with proper uniforms, footwear, raincoats, and other essential materials could improve their professionalism, morale, and ability to effectively perform their duties, particularly officers working in challenging field conditions.

The LIS County Commander also assured officers that the donated materials, especially the uniforms, boots, raincoats, and shoes, will be distributed fairly and transparently among eligible immigration personnel assigned throughout River Gee County.

The intervention comes as part of broader efforts by the Liberia Immigration Service to improve the institutional capacity of its county commands and equip officers with the basic resources needed to effectively serve the Liberian public.

Commander Vanyanbah expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Liberia Immigration Service for the support, stressing that continued investment in personnel and logistics remains essential to strengthening immigration services and national security at the county level.

The River Gee LIS command has begun the distribution of the materials to officers following the completion of the necessary administrative arrangements.
