MONROVIA, Liberia — Former Liberia Council of Churches President Bishop Dr. Kortu K. Brown has joined calls for a new political alternative beyond the ruling Unity Party (UP) and the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) ahead of the 2029 elections.
Brown said Liberia needs a new generation of sincere and professional leaders committed to advancing the political, economic, social, and religious interests of ordinary citizens.
“Liberia needs a third lane other than UP and CDC,” Brown declared, warning against recycling familiar political figures without offering genuine change.
He urged Liberians to demonstrate seriousness in their demand for transformation, emphasizing that any emerging political movement must present a credible alternative to existing political formations.
Brown’s remarks add to ongoing discussions about political leadership and the search for alternatives ahead of the next general elections.
