MONROVIA, Liberia — The media office of former Commerce Minister Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh has accused Senate Pro-Tempore Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence and Senator Abraham Darius Dillon of allegedly masterminding her removal from government.
In a statement issued by Sir-Cyrus Julius Jones, the Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh Foundation’s media and communications representative, the office alleged that the senators sought to undermine Dagoseh over concerns about her growing humanitarian influence and potential political ambitions in Grand Bassa County ahead of the 2029 elections.
The statement further alleged that Lawrence provided US$50,000 to Minister of State Samuel A. Stevquoah and Presidential Legal Adviser Cllr. Bushuben M. Keita, followed by an additional payment exceeding US$30,000 allegedly delivered by Dillon.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and no evidence was provided in the statement to substantiate the alleged payments.
Dagoseh’s media office also challenged Lawrence’s account of her involvement in the former minister’s appointment, insisting that Dagoseh’s longstanding contributions to the Unity Party informed President Joseph Boakai’s decision.
Lawrence, Dillon, Stevquoah, and Keita’s responses to the allegations were not included in the statement.
