Nyumalin bows out for Fallah in Lofa District #1 Representative Race

The Minister of Local Government, Hon. Francis Sakila Nyumalin, a once fierce political rival to Rep. Thomas Fallah, has announced that he will not contest the 2029 District #1 representative race in Lofa County, and will instead back the reelection campaign of Deputy Speaker Thomas P. Fallah.

Nyumalin told reporters that his decision forms part of continuing reconciliation efforts meant to foster unity among the people of the Kissi Chiefdom. He made clear that he would do more than simply withdraw, pledging to actively support Fallah’s bid for another term.

The announcement followed a significant stakeholder meeting held in Foya. Those present included Deputy Speaker Fallah, Hon. Brownie J. Samukai, who chairs the Special Presidential Project Coordinating Committee, Nyumalin himself, and traditional chiefs and elders from the Kissi Chiefdom.

The move is being described as an important step toward reconciliation and political unity in Kissi Land as the 2029 elections approach.
