MONROVIA – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has honored renowned Ghanaian Pan-African travel content creator Berthold Kobina Ackon, popularly known as Wodemaya, and Chief Executive Officer of The Gathering Group, Jenkins S. Nyuma, for their contributions to promoting Liberia during the country’s 179th Independence Day celebrations.
The recognition took place Thursday during a breakfast meeting at the President’s Rehab Residence in Paynesville. Also in attendance were Liberia National Tourism Authority Director General Princess Eva Cooper and Deputy Director General for Marketing and Promotions Jani Jallah Kollie.
President Boakai praised Wodemaya for using his widely followed digital platforms to showcase Liberia’s tourism, culture, history, and hospitality to millions of viewers worldwide. He presented the Ghanaian content creator with a Special Presidential Pin in recognition of his efforts.
Wodemaya thanked the President, describing Liberia as a nation rich in history, natural attractions, and welcoming people. He said his visit aimed to present a positive global image of Liberia while highlighting its tourism and investment potential.
