Bong Police Hand Over Gold, Phones Recovered from Fatal Salala Checkpoint Crash

The Bong County Detachment of the Liberia National Police has officially turned over gold, mobile phones, and other valuables recovered from the scene of the fatal accident at the Salala Checkpoint on the Gbarnga Highway.

The items were presented to the Bong County Traffic Court by the Crime Services Division Commander, Superintendent James Kartoe, on behalf of Bong County Police Commander ACP William Johnson.

According to the police, the valuables will remain in the custody of the Traffic Court while investigations continue.

Relatives of the victims, including the family of the late Josiah Doenunneh, are expected to identify themselves before the court so the items can be lawfully released to their rightful owners.

The Bong County Detachment has earned widespread praise across local radio stations and social media for its honesty and professionalism in safeguarding and reporting the recovered gold and other valuables.

Many Liberians have commended the officers for demonstrating a high level of integrity and accountability, describing their actions as a positive example of ethical policing.
