The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has announced the immediate expulsion of Deputy Speaker Thomas P. Fallah.
This decisive move follows recommendations from the party’s National Disciplinary Committee, underscoring the CDC’s resolve to uphold discipline and integrity within its ranks.
The expulsion of Deputy Speaker Fallah is part of broader efforts by the CDC to maintain internal unity and adherence to its principles. Additionally, the party issued a stern ultimatum to temporarily suspended lawmakers within its ranks: return to the fold within seven days or face permanent expulsion.
The NEC emphasized that this action reflects the CDC’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding Liberia’s constitutional order and ensuring stability in the legislative process.
In a related development, the CDC reaffirmed its recognition of Fonati Koffa as the legitimate Speaker of the 55th Legislature. The party has urged Speaker Koffa to resist pressure to resign, describing such a move as a threat to constitutional governance.
The Congress of Democratic Change (CDC) NEC strongly denounced the purported election of Richard Koon as Speaker, orchestrated by the Unity Party, labeling it unconstitutional and contrary to Article 49 of the Liberian Constitution.
The CDC expressed grave concern over the actions of the so-called Majority Bloc, particularly regarding discussions on the national budget.
The party accused the bloc of attempting to undermine the nation’s economic stability and warned of significant repercussions should President Joseph Boakai sign what it described as “treasonous legislation” into law.
