The Rehabilitation Committee overseeing the Dolo Town Comprehensive Health Center’s rebuilding efforts has issued its first public update, highlighting significant progress in the recovery of the health facility. The center, which was severely damaged by a fire on the 22nd of February 2025, serves as a crucial medical resource for residents of District 2 in Lower Margibi County. The committee, composed of local community members, health center representatives, officials from the Unification City Mayor’s Office, county leadership, and media outlets, has been working tirelessly to restore the facility.
In a recent appearance on a community radio station, Committee Secretary General Samuel King Jr. shared important updates on the donations and pledges received so far. The Chinese Embassy, Fight Information Regions (FIR), and the office of Senator Nathaniel McGill have been instrumental in the project’s initial funding. King revealed that the office of Senator McGill has committed to providing 10,000 building blocks, with 4,000 already delivered. Additionally, the Chinese Embassy contributed a cheque of US$3,000, while FIR donated US$1,000 in cash to support the rehabilitation.
King expressed gratitude for the generosity of these donors and acknowledged that further contributions from various individuals and organizations are expected in the coming days. These donations are essential for ensuring the timely and successful completion of the health center’s reconstruction.
The committee is working closely with local authorities to ensure that the rebuilding process proceeds smoothly. King also provided insight into the project’s timeline, stating that the bidding process for selecting contractors is currently underway. This process aims to ensure transparency, allowing for the selection of a qualified contractor who can handle the project effectively and efficiently. The committee is prioritizing documentation and financial capability to guarantee the project’s success.
With ongoing support and a focus on collaboration, the committee is optimistic that the Dolo Town Comprehensive Health Center will soon be rebuilt, ready to serve the community once again.
