MONROVIA, Liberia — The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved the immediate disbursement of about US$50 million to Liberia following the completion of its fourth review under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) and first review under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF).
The IMF said the disbursement comprises SDR 19.3 million under the ECF and SDR 17.62 million under the RSF.
According to the IMF, Liberia’s economy has remained resilient, with economic growth projected at 5.5 percent in 2026.
The Fund said all end-December 2025 performance criteria were met, while progress continues on structural and climate-related reforms.
Key priorities include implementing VAT in 2027, transparently managing a one-off mining concession payment, completing bank restructuring, strengthening governance and advancing climate resilience reforms.
The development is expected to provide additional financial support as Liberia continues its economic reform program.
