Deputy Officer-in-Charge of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency Ernest Tarpeh has claimed there is no visible “ghetto” in Monrovia and its surrounding areas, crediting the agency’s recent operations for the development.
Speaking on Punch FM, Tarpeh said the LDEA has significantly reduced drug hubs across the country since the current leadership assumed office. He noted that more than 200 ghettos were identified nationwide at the time of takeover but have since been substantially dismantled with support from the presidency.
“There is no visible ghetto in Monrovia and parts adjacent… if ghetto is in Monrovia then the person is selling in their room,” he stated, adding that enforcement efforts have produced visible progress in the fight against drugs.
He made the remarks during a live interview, emphasizing continued operations aimed at eliminating drug-related activities across Liberia.
