Monrovia, Liberia – Opposition Citizens Movement for Charnge (CMC) Political Leader and Nimba County District Seven Representative Musa Bility has publicly expressed support for political activist Mike Jabateh, assuring him that the CMC remains open to him despite apparent political challenges within the Rescue Government.
In a statement shared publicly, Bility disclosed that he visited Jabateh to encourage him during what he described as a difficult moment.
“This morning, I passed by to see my man, Mike Jabateh, one of the pillars of the rescue victory and one of the frontline commanders of the rescue mission,” Bility wrote. “At this moment, Mike may not be happy, but beyond politics, he remains my boy.”
Bility praised Jabateh for his contributions to the political movement that brought the current administration to power, saying he had earned his place in the Rescue Government through “sacrifice, loyalty, commitment, and service to the cause.”
“I told him: be strong. You have every right to be part of the rescue government. You earned those stripes through sacrifice, loyalty, commitment, and service to the cause. Nobody can take that away from you,” Bility stated.
The CMC leader, however, advised Jabateh to maintain his dignity and carefully assess whether his contributions are still valued within the political establishment.
“But while being strong, keep your pride. Watch carefully for the signals as to whether your service is still needed or appreciated. In politics, dignity matters. Conscience matters. Self-respect matters,” he added.
Bility further assured Jabateh that the CMC would continue to stand by him, describing the political institution as his “natural fallback position.”
“No matter what happens, the CMC remains here for you. It is your natural fallback position, your home, and your people. Our doors remain open to you,” the statement said.
He also encouraged Jabateh to remain committed to his beliefs and political principles despite the challenges he may be facing.
“Sometimes politics tests loyalty, patience, and sacrifice. But history always remembers those who stood firm for a cause bigger than themselves,” Bility concluded.
The statement has since generated political discussion, with many observers interpreting it as a sign of possible tensions within the ruling coalition.
