Monrovia, Liberia-The Program Manager of the Planned Parenthood Association of Liberia Enree B. Neeplo has been sentenced to 10-year imprisonment for corruption.
The sentencing hearing was handed down on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, by the resident Judge of Criminal Court ‘C’ A. Blamo Dixon after she was found guilty of economic sabotage and related financial crimes.
Neeplo was also ordered to repay more than $200,000 and fined $300. The funds in question were misappropriated through payments for a PEWETTA vehicle, a Ford Everest SUV, laptops, catering services, and youth programs, expenditures not authorized under her role.
The conviction follows an extensive investigation and indictment by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) in 2024.
Neeplo faced multiple charges including theft, illegal disbursement of public funds, and misuse of property, fraud, and criminal conspiracy.
Her sentencing follows a sweeping July 2024 jury verdict that implicated several other officials. Although she sought a separate trial, the court convicted her alongside Miatta K. K. Kojolo, Ernest Vobah, Peter Collins, and William Gibson.
The case has become one of the most high-profile corruption convictions in Liberia’s recent history, raising serious questions about oversight and accountability in the country’s nonprofit and public sectors.
