Madam Finda Bundo, the former Chief of Protocol under former President George Weah, has been summoned by the Debt Court of Montserrado County regarding an unresolved debt of USD 14,000.
The legal action follows a complaint filed by Jerome F. Walkely, who claims that Bundo failed to pay for a shipment of campaign materials used during the 2023 elections.
According to Walkely, the dispute stems from an agreement in which he was contracted to print 213 cartons of victory balloon sticks and other campaign items for the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).
The total cost of the materials was USD 38,000, which Walkely claims was to be paid by Madam Bundo.
The items were shipped via the Ministry of State, and Walkely alleges that two initial payments totaling USD 20,000 were made by Bundo’s agents, Mr. Toe Wesseh and Mr. James Emmanuel Potter.
Despite these payments, Walkely says that USD $18,000 remained unpaid. He could not resolve the matter after repeated attempts to recover the outstanding amount.
As a result, Walkely hired legal counsel to assist with the recovery process. This led to an additional partial payment of USD 4,000, reducing the remaining balance to USD 14,000.
However, Walkely claims that all subsequent efforts to retrieve the remaining debt have been unsuccessful. Madam Bundo faces serious legal consequences as the case heads to court unless the matter is resolved.
The court summons is a significant development in this ongoing financial dispute, which has attracted attention due to the involvement of high-profile individuals in the former government.
