UL President Celebrates Repainted and Repaired ‘State-of-the-Art’ Armchairs Amid Student Criticism

Monrovia, Liberia — University of Liberia (UL) President Dr. Layli Maparyan has announced the arrival of newly repaired and repainted armchairs at the university’s Capitol Hill campus, following criticism from students and other members of the public over the condition and appearance of the furniture.

Dr. Maparyan, in a social media post, described the chairs as part of efforts to improve the campus environment and thanked Voice of the Elders RL and the Operation Seat UL initiative for their support.

“New chairs coming to UL Capitol Hill Campus today! Thank you, Voice of the Elders RL and OPERATION SEAT UL!! Students, we are getting the campus ready,” she stated.

The armchairs had attracted criticism from some students and members of the public, who questioned their condition and suitability for use on the university campus.

The repairs and repainting are now being presented as part of broader efforts to improve seating and learning facilities for UL students.
