UP Youth Leader Challenges SG on Job Qualification Claims, Calls for Resume-Based Comparison

By Emmanuel M. Kangar, Jr.

Montserrado County — Tensions within the ruling Unity Party have surfaced publicly following comments by the Secretary General of its Montserrado Chapter regarding job qualifications among party supporters, prompting a sharp response from a senior youth official.

The Vice Chairman for Administration of the Unity Party National Youth Congress, Cyrus L. Green, reacted shortly after Amos Kollie, Secretary General of the party’s Montserrado Chapter, stated that many grassroots partisans remain unemployed because they lack the necessary qualifications and professional competence.

In a statement that appeared to mock the Secretary General’s remarks, Green challenged Kollie to a public comparison of credentials.

“Comrade SG et Ally Amos Kollie, please bring your Resume, let me bring my own, so we can see something ASAP. Let us submit it to an independent panel and even sit before them for interview and see something,” Green said.

His comments come amid ongoing debate within the party over expectations of employment for supporters who were active during the campaign period, and the extent to which qualifications should determine access to jobs.

The exchange highlights growing internal pressure within the Unity Party as it navigates governance demands alongside expectations from its base.

Montserrado County remains a central political stronghold for the ruling party, where discussions about jobs and political loyalty continue to shape internal party dynamics.
