(November 13, 2025): The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) will this Friday, 14 November 2025, open a book of condolence for fallen Liberian journalists Jonathan Browne and Sebo Daniels.
The two distinguished journalists and editors passed away recently after a brief period of illness.
Journalist Browne, until his death on 30 October 2025, worked as Editor of the New Dawn Newspaper, operated by journalist Othello Garblah.
He had previously worked with several Liberian news publications including The Patriot, The Liberian Diaspora, and The Independent.
Journalist Sebo Daniels, who was buried on 01 November 2025, passed away on 14 October 2025.
Prior to his death, journalist Daniels edited the X-Ray Global Newspaper, having worked with news publications including Monrovia Daily News, The Daily Time, and The Inquirer.
Friday’s book of condolence ceremony is intended to pay tribute and celebrate the lives of the two fallen journalists, who shaped Liberian society through their journalism.
The Press Union of Liberia again expresses profound sympathy to the families of our fallen colleagues, and urges all journalists and media practitioners, friends and members of society to join the Union in celebrating the legacies of journalists Browne and Daniels.
The book of condolence ceremony will start at 10:30 AM at the PUL Head Offices on Warner Avenue, 9th Street, Sinkor.
The Home-going and Funeral Services of Editor Browne will be held this Saturday, 15 November 2025, at City Hall Church, located on Broad Street, up Ducor.
The body will be removed from Abraham Robert Funeral Home at 7:00 AM and taken to the City Hall Church, where the funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Johnsonville Turning Point Cemetery.
