Former Liberian President George Weah has shared insights into the origins of King’s FM, tracing its creation back to his deep passion for music and early career as a disc jockey.
Speaking about the station’s beginnings, Weah said King’s FM was established in 2004 during a time when he had earned recognition as one of Liberia’s top DJs, known by the nickname “uhm-uhm.” His success in music, he noted, inspired him to launch the radio station.
Weah further explained that his international exposure, including experiences in Monaco, contributed to the formation of Royal Communications, the media group behind King’s FM, City FM, and Clar TV.
Reflecting on his personal philosophy, the former president emphasized resilience, stating that he does not seek approval from others. “If you hate me, it makes me stronger,” he said.
