The University of Liberia Faculty and Staff Association (ULFASA) has voted to continue its ongoing go-slow action, despite President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr.’s intervention aimed at resolving the university’s impasse.
The decision was reaffirmed Friday during an emergency general assembly attended by more than 90 percent of the association’s membership.
ULFASA says its disengagement from duties will continue until university authorities provide a clear timeline and concrete plan for addressing all outstanding issues.
The development means academic activities at Liberia’s premier public university could remain disrupted.
President Boakai recently brokered an agreement among the administration, faculty, staff and Board of Trustees, urging stakeholders to prioritize students and resolve their differences through dialogue and cooperation.
