MONROVIA, LIBERIA — LD A legal battle could be looming between Gbarpolu County Senator Amara Mohamed Konneh and Deputy Information Minister Daniel O. Sando following allegations linking the senator to the rigging of Liberia’s 2017 presidential election.
A team of lawyers representing Senator Konneh has reportedly issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Deputy Minister Sando, demanding that he retract the allegations and provide an apology.
The lawyers described Sando’s claims as false and defamatory, arguing that the statements have damaged Senator Konneh’s reputation and could constitute serious criminal allegations under Liberian law.
The legal team has warned that failure to retract the statements within the stipulated 48-hour period could prompt further legal action against the Deputy Information Minister.
The development comes amid heightened political tensions and renewed public debate over Liberia’s 2017 presidential election and allegations of electoral misconduct.
