MONROVIA, LIBERIA — US-based Liberian psychologist and supporter of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Madam Evangeline Mamie Tarr, has called for evidence-based investigations and greater accountability amid ongoing public debate over Liberia’s fight against illicit drugs.
In a strongly worded statement, Tarr thanked activist Martin K. N. Kollie for continuing to raise questions about transparency and accountability, saying allegations should be addressed through evidence rather than political attacks or blind loyalty.
She criticized what she described as a culture of defending individuals based on political affiliation, tribal connections, friendships or personal relationships, arguing that loyalty to Liberia and the truth should come before personalities.
Addressing allegations involving police vehicles and references to Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman, Henry Costa and the Brooklyn Park Police Department, Tarr asked authorities and other concerned parties to produce relevant documents and public records to establish the facts.
She also urged the public to distinguish between tactical equipment and vehicles, saying the two should not be deliberately conflated.
Tarr maintained that allegations should be fairly investigated, while allowing all parties an opportunity to present evidence and respond.
“2026 is not 1847,” she declared, emphasizing that Liberia deserves truth, accountability and transparency.
