MONROVIA, Liberia — Montserrado County District #9 Representative Frank Saah Foko Jr. has criticized Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah over lawmakers’ benefits and allowances, questioning the pace of construction of Fallah’s office in Nimba County.
Foko accused Fallah of publicly portraying himself as deprived of benefits while allegedly making substantial donations, constructing his office rapidly, and reportedly purchasing pickup trucks for his political bloc.
He also questioned reports that lawmakers had received approximately US$21,000 each, demanding clarification on the payments and whether all eligible legislators benefited equally.
“The public deserves the truth,” Foko said, urging relevant authorities to disclose the recipients and purpose of the reported payments.
He further warned that constituency funding and lawmakers’ benefits should not be used to reward political loyalty or punish dissent.
The allegations and claims surrounding the payments have not been independently verified. Fallah’s response was not included in the statement provided.
