American Bar Association Trains 22 Correction Officers in Record Management

Monrovia – Twenty-two officers from 16 prison facilities across Liberia have completed a two-day training on Prison Record Management and Database Systems.

The training, held December 2-3, 2024, at the Ministry of Justice in Monrovia, aimed to enhance officers’ ability to manage updated systems for real-time inmate data.

The program, organized by the American Bar Association-Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) in partnership with the Bureau of Corrections and Rehabilitation (BCR), focused on improving efficiency in prison record-keeping.

Assistant Minister for Corrections and Rehabilitation, Atty. Gabriel F. Ndupellar, encouraged participants to stay focused and utilize the skills to improve their job performance.

Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs, Cllr. Charles D.K. Karmo, highlighted the importance of accurate records for a stronger justice system.

Assistant Director for Prison Operations, Lawrence Bohle, noted that the training introduced an updated database to streamline information management and improve operations across prison facilities.
