Criminal Court ‘E’ at the Temple of Justice has concluded the marking of evidence in the alleged Sodomy case involving former National Security Agency (NSA) officer Peter Bond Jallah, clearing the way for the trial to begin on July 13, 2026.
The completion of the evidentiary process marks the end of a key pretrial stage, allowing the court to proceed with hearing testimony from both prosecution and defense witnesses.
During the trial, state prosecutors are expected to present evidence aimed at proving the charge beyond a reasonable doubt.
The defense will have the opportunity to challenge the prosecution’s case and present evidence in support of the defendant.
Peter Bon Jallah has denied the allegation and pleaded not guilty. Under Liberian law, he is presumed innocent unless the prosecution proves his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of competent jurisdiction.
The case has attracted public interest because the defendant is a serving officer of the National Security Agency, one of Liberia’s key security institutions.
With the pretrial evidentiary process now complete, the court is expected to begin hearing witness testimony when proceedings resume on July 13. The outcome of the trial will depend on the evidence and testimony presented before the court.
